THE BIBLE GIVES BELIEVERS A CLEAR MORAL STANDARD BY WHICH WE CAN LIVE A LIFE OF OBEDIENCE TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER

THAT THE WORLD MOCKS GOD’S STANDARD OF TRUTH, YET AT THE 
SAME TIME IS HOPEFUL THAT THE 
WORLD CAN GET ALONG

THE THIRD COMMANDMENT

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”
Exodus 20:7 (ESV)

“You shall not swear by My name falsely, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.”
Leviticus 19:12 (ESV)

“Again you have heard that it was said to those of old. You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn. But I say to you, do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by earth, for it is His footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

WE CLAIM GOD LOVES US - YET WE QUESTION HIS WILL FOR US

WE CLAIM GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS - YET WE DON’T REALLY EXPECT ANYTHING DIFFERENT

WE CLAIM GOD IS IN CONTROL - YET WE’RE FILLED WITH WORRY AND ANXIETY

WE CLAIM GOD’S WORD IS TRUE - YET WE RARELY READ IT

WE CLAIM GOD IS HOLY - YET WE FAIL TO LIVE HOLY

“There is a strong conviction between the heart and obedience. Jesus says that it is spiritually impossible to love Him and not obey Him. The problem is not obedience; the problem is love. If you do not obey it is because your heart has shifted. Love will ALWAYS obey.
